Partners

Reading Partners:

Reading Partners is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 that aims to make sure “all children in this nation will have the reading skills they need to reach their full potential.” Reading Partners focuses on children from low income families and high-need elementary schools. Reading Partners is funded through grants and donations. Moving Stories helps supply books to the Washington, DC branch for children to take home or use as a tool with their tutors.

Teach For America:

Teach for America is a non-profit organization whose goal is “to ensure that kids growing up in poverty get an excellent education.” Teach for America recruits and trains “leaders with a record of achievement who work to expand education opportunity.” Moving Stories provides reading material to Teach for America so that children from low-income families in the Washington, DC area have the necessary resources for a well-rounded education.

Coldwell Banker:

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is a nationwide real estate firm. Georgetown office sales associates encourage sellers to donate books to Moving Stories, thus supplying Moving Stories with its resources. Tom Bryan, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Branch Vice President, Georgetown said “One of the biggest issues we have with sellers who are downsizing is, what to do with their book collections…Now we will have an organized method to offer all of our sellers the opportunity to pass these books on to needed schools.”
